Overview
- Lead and supervise peer support staff within a behavioral health framework.
- Integrate peer support services into multidisciplinary care teams for effective collaboration.
- Provide mentorship, training, and professional development for peer specialists and advocates.
- Ensure compliance with ethical guidelines and regulatory standards in peer support services.
- Develop and refine service models to align with organizational goals and community needs.
- Promote recovery-oriented, trauma-informed, and person-centered care approaches.
- Collaborate with community organizations to strengthen peer programming.
- Stay informed on emerging best practices in peer support and advocacy services.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Supervise and manage peer support staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
- Provide individual and group supervision to ensure adherence to peer support principles.
- Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback for professional growth.
- Develop policies and procedures to support peer roles within the organization.
- Conduct audits and chart reviews to ensure quality documentation and service delivery.
- Collect and analyze data to assess the effectiveness of peer support services.
- Advocate for peer staff roles in team discussions and care planning.
- Represent the organization at community meetings and professional events.
Job Requirements
- Master’s degree in social work, mental health counseling, psychology, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in behavioral health or peer support programs.
- Strong knowledge of peer support principles and trauma-informed care.
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) documentation and reporting.
- Preferred certifications: NYCPS, FPA, YPA, or CRPA.
- Experience with motivational interviewing, harm reduction, or wellness coaching.
- Bilingual in Spanish or other community languages is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment.
