Overview
- Join a dynamic team as an Access Control Technician on a contract basis.
- Contribute to impactful projects involving new installations, system upgrades, and live cutovers.
- Work with Mercury-based access control hardware and associated downstream I/O boards.
- Apply your expertise in controller panel layouts, board addressing, and field termination.
- Collaborate with project management and software teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Utilize your skills in troubleshooting and validating door hardware functionality.
- Engage in system cutovers and assist with panel bring-up and site acceptance.
- Work independently in active environments, minimizing downtime during operations.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Install and commission Mercury MP/LP series controllers and associated hardware.
- Perform power distribution calculations and troubleshoot 12VDC and 24VDC systems.
- Wire, test, and validate door hardware including card readers, REX devices, and door contacts.
- Troubleshoot faults at both the panel and field level to ensure system functionality.
- Verify grounding and power isolation practices to maintain system integrity.
- Perform system cutovers from legacy platforms to new access control systems.
- Navigate access control software platforms, with preference for Genetec systems.
- Interpret wiring diagrams and as-builts to execute project requirements effectively.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a relevant field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience; 10 years preferred.
- Proficiency with Mercury-based access control hardware and associated systems.
- Experience with Genetec access control software platforms is strongly preferred.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, interpret as-builts, and execute fieldwork independently.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for hardware and software systems.
- Comfortable working in active environments with minimized downtime.
- Excellent coordination skills with project management and software teams.
