Overview

  • Lead financial operations for private equity funds, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with global teams to drive strategic initiatives and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Oversee fund accounting processes, including reporting, audits, and investor communications.
  • Support the launch and management of new investment vehicles, ensuring compliance and scalability.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to fund accounting teams, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
  • Contribute to cross-border structuring considerations and fund restructurings.
  • Report directly to senior leadership, gaining exposure to strategic decision-making processes.
  • Drive process improvements and technology adoption to optimize fund operations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage accounting and financial reporting for private equity funds, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Review and approve financial statements and investor reporting deliverables.
  • Supervise capital calls, distributions, and subscription line activities.
  • Lead annual fund audits and coordinate with external auditors and advisors.
  • Develop and validate waterfall and performance models against governing documents.
  • Collaborate with investment, asset management, legal, tax, and investor relations teams.
  • Implement process and technology improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification required.
  • 10+ years of experience in fund accounting, with a preference for private equity expertise.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, fair value accounting, and partnership accounting.
  • Proficiency with accounting systems like Yardi and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience managing teams and implementing scalable accounting processes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills for interfacing with senior management and investors.
  • Proven ability to drive strategic initiatives and process improvements.
