Overview

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Discuss patient symptoms and obtain vital signs to assist healthcare providers in diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Perform phlebotomy and collect diagnostic specimens, ensuring proper handling and documentation.
  • Administer medications and vaccines following established healthcare protocols and patient safety standards.
  • Sterilize medical equipment and maintain examination rooms to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Accurately document patient information in electronic medical records systems, maintaining confidentiality and compliance.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver high-quality patient care and improve health outcomes.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures while exercising independent discretion in patient care activities.
  • Provide direct patient care within the scope of active certification and training.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Medical Assistant training program preferred.
  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant credentials preferred; CPR certification required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience required; 5 years preferred for advanced proficiency.
  • Experience in medication/vaccine administration and phlebotomy highly valued.
  • Knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience advantageous.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred; proficiency exam may be required.
  • Ability to work on-site Monday to Friday, 8AM-5PM, in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare teams.
