Overview

  • Provide vital clinical and administrative support in a fast-paced healthcare environment, ensuring seamless patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Assist patients with vital sign measurements, specimen collection, and accurate documentation in electronic medical records.
  • Facilitate smooth patient flow by addressing concerns and coordinating appointments effectively.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including scheduling, registration, and insurance verification, utilizing advanced systems.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver age-appropriate care and effective communication strategies.
  • Support initiatives aimed at improving patient health outcomes and reducing unnecessary visits.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Welcome patients warmly and manage their flow through registration and waiting areas, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Coordinate referrals and appointments with specialists, ensuring all necessary documentation is provided accurately.
  • Prepare patients for physical exams, perform phlebotomy, and assist with diagnostic testing as required.
  • Document patient information accurately in electronic medical records, maintaining data integrity and compliance.
  • Support campaigns to close care gaps and enhance patient health outcomes through proactive measures.
  • Handle patient inquiries and concerns professionally, escalating issues when necessary for resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies regarding confidentiality and patient care standards.
  • Contribute to team meetings and foster a cooperative and supportive work environment.

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred for enhanced qualifications.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or eligibility for certification within 18 months of hire.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting preferred.
  • Proficiency in navigating electronic medical records (EMR) systems for efficient documentation.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and patient care techniques essential.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills to enhance patient interactions.
  • Ability to perform age-specific patient care and adapt communication accordingly.
