Job Description

Overview

  • Lead and manage nursing services for the postpartum department, ensuring high-quality care and compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Develop and implement programs to enhance patient care and staff performance within the unit.
  • Collaborate with medical staff and administrators to align nursing strategies with organizational goals.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and ensure the effectiveness of nursing practices and policies.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to nursing teams, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and standards in all nursing activities.
  • Oversee departmental operations, including staffing, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Promote a culture of safety, efficiency, and excellence in patient care delivery.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Implement and monitor nursing care programs to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
  • Develop and enforce policies and standards across the postpartum department.
  • Evaluate patient outcomes and adjust care strategies to maintain high-quality service.
  • Lead and supervise nursing teams, addressing training and development needs.
  • Collaborate with medical staff and administrators on nursing strategies and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and organizational policies.
  • Manage departmental resources, including staffing, budgeting, and equipment.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in patient care.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of clinical patient care experience in a relevant setting.
  • At least 2 years of healthcare leadership experience.
  • Active RN license in good standing in the state of employment or compact state.
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations and nursing standards.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop nursing teams effectively.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
