Overview

  • Lead billing operations for a law firm, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with client billing guidelines.
  • Manage electronic billing platforms, overseeing invoice submissions and resolving billing discrepancies effectively.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, clients, and internal teams to maintain seamless billing processes.
  • Supervise billing specialists, fostering a professional and productive team environment.
  • Optimize billing workflows and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with LEDES formatting standards and corporate legal department billing requirements.
  • Support financial reporting and assist with accounts receivable management and collections.
  • Stay updated on e-billing industry trends and train staff on best practices.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee law firm billing operations, ensuring timely and accurate invoice generation.
  • Manage electronic billing submissions through platforms like Collaborati, CounselLink, and TyMetrix 360.
  • Resolve billing inquiries and disputes with clients and attorneys professionally.
  • Supervise billing specialists, providing training and performance evaluations.
  • Prepare billing reports to track revenue and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with client billing guidelines and maintain accurate billing records.
  • Coordinate with IT and software vendors to troubleshoot billing platform issues.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial reporting processes.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of billing management experience in a law firm setting.
  • Proficiency in e-billing platforms like Collaborati, CounselLink, and TyMetrix 360.
  • Strong knowledge of LEDES file formats and electronic billing compliance.
  • Experience with accounts receivable management and financial reporting.
  • Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
  • Operational leadership and team management experience.
  • Ability to implement process improvements and optimize billing workflows.
