Overview
- Serve as a clinical coach for new Hospice and Palliative Care staff, providing mentorship during orientation and assessing field competencies.
- Act as a resource and mentor for new staff, ensuring effective clinical orientation and training.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance staff development and support quality patient care initiatives.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of training programs tailored to Hospice and Palliative Care professionals.
- Promote continuous learning and professional growth within the organization.
- Hybrid work arrangement with occasional travel to other office locations.
- Support staff in obtaining relevant certifications, including CHPN, with organizational assistance.
- Work closely with leadership to address clinical training needs and improve staff competency.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Provide mentorship and clinical coaching to new Hospice and Palliative Care staff during their orientation period.
- Assess field competencies and ensure adherence to clinical standards and protocols.
- Develop and deliver educational programs to enhance staff knowledge and skills.
- Collaborate with management to identify training needs and implement effective solutions.
- Act as a liaison between staff and leadership to address clinical concerns and training gaps.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Hospice and Palliative Care practices and guidelines.
- Support staff in obtaining certifications, including CHPN, within the designated timeframe.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in Nursing or Education preferred.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in Hospice and Palliative Care; 6 years preferred.
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
- CHPN certification preferred, with willingness to obtain within 6–12 months.
- Experience in mentoring, precepting, or leading clinical training programs.
- Strong knowledge of Hospice and Palliative Care practices and protocols.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment with occasional travel.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to support interdisciplinary teams.
