Overview
- Support the Chief Financial Officer in managing financial operations and statutory accounting for a dynamic reinsurance company.
- Contribute to the development and execution of financial strategies and investment portfolio management.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP and NAIC guidelines while preparing accurate financial statements.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive business goals and ensure regulatory adherence.
- Assist in structuring reinsurance transactions and preparing forecasts for new business deals.
- Provide detailed analysis and reporting on investment performance and financial models.
- Engage in ad hoc projects and initiatives to support organizational growth and development.
- Maintain strict attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment while managing multiple priorities.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Manage statutory accounting and reporting infrastructure for reinsurance customers.
- Collaborate with investment management teams to prepare forecasts, budgets, and ad hoc financial reports.
- Assist in structuring reinsurance transactions and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
- Lead initiatives for forecasting and projections related to new business opportunities.
- Engage with stakeholders to implement best practices and drive organizational goals.
- Review and refine financial models to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure accuracy in general ledger transactions and financial statement preparation.
- Support the Chief Financial Officer in various projects and initiatives as needed.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience; reinsurance experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in US GAAP and statutory accounting principles.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience in annuity and life insurance accounting and investment management.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for engaging with stakeholders.
- Ability to identify and resolve errors, problems, and opportunities.
- Demonstrated ability to meet daily and monthly deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
