Job Description

Overview

  • Support the Chief Financial Officer in managing financial operations and statutory accounting for a dynamic reinsurance company.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of financial strategies and investment portfolio management.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and NAIC guidelines while preparing accurate financial statements.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive business goals and ensure regulatory adherence.
  • Assist in structuring reinsurance transactions and preparing forecasts for new business deals.
  • Provide detailed analysis and reporting on investment performance and financial models.
  • Engage in ad hoc projects and initiatives to support organizational growth and development.
  • Maintain strict attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment while managing multiple priorities.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Manage statutory accounting and reporting infrastructure for reinsurance customers.
  • Collaborate with investment management teams to prepare forecasts, budgets, and ad hoc financial reports.
  • Assist in structuring reinsurance transactions and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
  • Lead initiatives for forecasting and projections related to new business opportunities.
  • Engage with stakeholders to implement best practices and drive organizational goals.
  • Review and refine financial models to support strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure accuracy in general ledger transactions and financial statement preparation.
  • Support the Chief Financial Officer in various projects and initiatives as needed.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience; reinsurance experience is a plus.
  • Proficiency in US GAAP and statutory accounting principles.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
  • Experience in annuity and life insurance accounting and investment management.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills for engaging with stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify and resolve errors, problems, and opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet daily and monthly deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
