Job Description

Overview

  • Lead and manage commercial construction projects from preconstruction to closeout, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to achieve successful project outcomes and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Develop and oversee project budgets, schedules, and cost forecasts to ensure financial and timeline objectives are met.
  • Ensure compliance with contract documents, safety standards, and quality expectations throughout all project phases.
  • Utilize project management software to track progress, manage documentation, and facilitate effective communication.
  • Drive risk management strategies to proactively address issues impacting schedule or budget.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering collaboration and efficiency.
  • Ensure successful project closeout, including punch lists, warranties, and final documentation.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage all phases of commercial construction projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project budgets, schedules, and cost forecasts.
  • Review and negotiate subcontractor scopes, contracts, and change orders effectively.
  • Coordinate with superintendents to ensure field execution aligns with project plans.
  • Lead project meetings with owners, design teams, and trade partners to facilitate communication and decision-making.
  • Process pay applications, subcontractor billings, and cost reports accurately and timely.
  • Track and manage RFIs, submittals, and project documentation to maintain organization.
  • Ensure compliance with contract requirements, safety standards, and quality control procedures.
  • Oversee project closeout activities, including punch lists, warranties, and final documentation.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Manager with a commercial general contractor.
  • Experience managing commercial construction projects valued at $5M+ preferred.
  • Proficiency with project management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
