Overview

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care in a collaborative and fast-paced healthcare environment, ensuring patient comfort and adherence to care plans.
  • Administer medications, vaccinations, and diagnostic procedures while maintaining strict compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Support patients and families by providing clear communication and education about health practices and treatment plans.
  • Perform diagnostic tasks such as EKGs and venipuncture with precision and care.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of patient interactions and procedures in electronic medical records systems.
  • Maintain infection control standards and proper sterilization of medical instruments.
  • Coordinate prior authorizations, referrals, and diagnostic imaging orders efficiently.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Administer prescribed treatments, vaccinations, and medications following physician directives and established protocols.
  • Perform venipuncture, process laboratory specimens, and coordinate with external laboratories for diagnostic testing.
  • Prepare patients for medical evaluations, including gathering patient histories and vital signs.
  • Maintain accurate nursing logs and ensure the availability of necessary medical supplies.
  • Handle specialty referrals, diagnostic imaging orders, and physician documentation with attention to detail.
  • Sterilize medical instruments and uphold rigorous infection control protocols.
  • Educate patients on health practices and procedures under the guidance of licensed professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and team members to ensure optimal care delivery.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED is mandatory for eligibility.
  • Active New York State LPN licensure and CPR certification for Healthcare Providers are required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of practical nursing experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in performing EKGs, venipuncture, and specimen processing is essential.
  • Knowledge of infection control practices and sterilization techniques is necessary.
  • Ability to document patient care accurately in electronic medical records systems.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within healthcare teams.
  • Physical capability to perform tasks involving bending, lifting, and patient transfers.
