Overview

  • Join a dynamic financial services firm as a Staff Accountant, driving impactful accounting operations in a collaborative hybrid work environment.
  • Contribute to managing investment funds and management companies with comprehensive accounting and financial reporting tasks.
  • Engage in accounts receivable, treasury functions, and financial statement preparation for private funds.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including asset management and compliance, to ensure operational excellence.
  • Participate in month-end close processes and contribute to special projects enhancing efficiency and accuracy.
  • Maintain schedules for prepaid expenses and fixed assets, ensuring precise and timely reporting.
  • Work closely with management to develop skills in a fast-paced investment environment.
  • Leverage growth opportunities to advance your expertise in financial operations and reporting.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and manage monthly interest calculations and invoices for loans, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Record and track interest received from borrowers, maintaining detailed and organized records.
  • Process wire transfers and monitor daily cash positions to optimize financial operations.
  • Analyze account activity and perform intercompany transaction reconciliations effectively.
  • Prepare quarterly financial statements for smaller private funds with precision and timeliness.
  • Assist with banking activities, including setting up new accounts and maintaining compliance.
  • Perform monthly and quarterly expense variance analysis to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Maintain 1099 records and generate year-end reporting, ensuring regulatory adherence.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience; 4 years preferred for advanced roles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software; experience with Yardi is advantageous.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookup functions.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of US commercial real estate credit is a plus.
