Overview

  • Lead and oversee hospice clinical services, ensuring exceptional patient care and compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient and family experiences through innovative care practices.
  • Develop and implement policies to uphold service excellence and align with organizational goals.
  • Provide leadership in staff development, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations governing hospice care services.
  • Manage resources effectively to meet productivity and operational standards while maintaining quality care.
  • Participate in budget preparation and oversee resource allocation to support organizational objectives.
  • Champion innovation in programs addressing diverse patient populations and evolving healthcare needs.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Revise and communicate clinical policies to staff and management, ensuring alignment with best practices.
  • Facilitate Clinical Practice Council processes for effective policy dissemination and implementation.
  • Monitor and optimize resource utilization to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct chart reviews to ensure documentation accuracy and adherence to healthcare standards.
  • Collaborate with management on special projects aimed at improving patient outcomes and service delivery.
  • Educate staff on healthcare laws, regulations, and standards to ensure compliance and quality care.
  • Manage staffing and resource allocation to support clinical services effectively.
  • Interview and select qualified candidates in collaboration with HR to build a strong team.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in healthcare or related field preferred.
  • Minimum six years of healthcare experience, including three years in a management role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hospice and palliative care practices and standards.
  • Familiarity with Joint Commission accreditation standards and healthcare regulations.
  • Proficiency in healthcare management, financial planning, and interpersonal relations.
  • Strong communication, planning, and evaluative skills to lead effectively in dynamic settings.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and consensus-building abilities in healthcare environments.
  • Deep understanding of patient needs and family dynamics in progressive illness care.
