Overview
- Provide comprehensive psychiatric care and medication management to diverse adult populations in a collaborative healthcare environment.
- Engage with multidisciplinary teams to develop and enhance program policies and strategic planning initiatives.
- Work across two locations, focusing on adult families and men's shelter populations.
- Participate in crisis intervention and case conferences to address emergent client needs effectively.
- Contribute to organizational excellence through participation in incident reviews and training committees.
- Utilize and enhance clinical and management skills in a supportive and collaborative environment.
- Provide emergency first aid and CPR as needed to ensure client safety and well-being.
- Report to the Vice President of Nursing for clinical supervision and professional guidance.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and prescribe psychotropic medications tailored to client needs.
- Monitor medication regimens and assess client progress to ensure optimal treatment outcomes.
- Participate in case conferences and provide crisis intervention during urgent clinical situations.
- Offer guidance and support to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to enhance team effectiveness.
- Collaborate with program managers to develop and implement improvement policies and procedures.
- Contribute to incident review and training committees to uphold service quality standards.
- Deliver emergency first aid, CPR, and other interventions during critical situations.
- Perform related duties as assigned to support organizational goals and client care excellence.
Job Requirements
- Master of Science in Nursing degree with certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in NYS.
- Minimum of 1 year experience in mental health or substance abuse settings; 5 years preferred.
- CPR/AED/first aid/naloxone certifications or willingness to obtain upon hire.
- Strong emergency response, interpersonal, and communication skills essential for effective client care.
- Proficiency in computer literacy and effective writing skills required for documentation and communication.
- Bilingual capabilities preferred to enhance communication with diverse client populations.
