Job Description

Overview

  • Serve as a Project Assistant on a contract basis, supporting diverse infrastructure and facilities projects for a dynamic organization.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to align projects with organizational goals and operational needs.
  • Assist in managing project phases, including planning, budgeting, and implementation, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Contribute to the successful completion of projects within budget, schedule, and quality expectations.
  • Support procurement processes, including RFQs, RFPs, and contract awards, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
  • Maintain strong relationships with consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure project success.
  • Temporary hybrid role requiring three days in-office per week for three months, with potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to develop project plans aligning with programmatic and operational needs.
  • Assist in defining project scope, identifying design solutions, and developing construction documents.
  • Coordinate with architects, consultants, and contractors to review schedules and cost estimates.
  • Monitor project progress, addressing schedule and budget variances proactively.
  • Support procurement processes, including bid evaluations and contract awards.
  • Participate in the development of scopes of work, cost estimates, and schedules for projects.
  • Oversee General Contractors and Construction Managers to ensure timely project execution.
  • Compile research findings into concise reports and presentations for stakeholders.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or Facilities Management required.
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience; 4 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and project scheduling software.
  • Understanding of construction processes, building systems, and design practices.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems preferred.
  • Experience in historical building renovation or preservation is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and time-management abilities.
  • Effective communication skills to convey technical information clearly.
