Job Description

Overview

  • Lead mechanical design and analysis for valves, actuators, and fluid systems from concept to qualification.
  • Perform structural, thermal, and tolerance analyses to ensure robust and flight-ready designs.
  • Define component-level requirements and contribute to system-level architecture and trade studies.
  • Oversee prototyping, environmental testing, and hot-fire campaigns for hardware development.
  • Collaborate with propulsion, structures, and test teams for seamless system integration.
  • Deliver production-ready engineering documentation to support manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Take ownership of tasks beyond immediate scope to ensure team success.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct mechanical design and analysis for high-pressure and cryogenic fluid systems.
  • Lead hardware development through testing and design iteration based on analysis results.
  • Plan and execute test programs, analyze data, and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system integration and performance.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive technical documentation for manufacturing and testing.
  • Mentor team members and contribute to the development of design and analysis practices.
  • Participate in technical reviews and ensure adherence to industry standards.
  • Support failure investigations and implement effective corrective actions.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering within aerospace or high-reliability industries.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools like NX or SolidWorks and FEA fundamentals.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes including machining, welding, and heat treatment.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware debugging and working alongside technicians.
  • Knowledge of high-pressure and cryogenic fluid systems design and qualification.
  • Familiarity with ASME, NASA, or MIL standards for mission-critical hardware.
  • Proven leadership in failure investigations and mentoring engineering teams.
