Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the organization’s internal and external communications strategy, ensuring consistent messaging and effective engagement with stakeholders.
  • Oversee media relations, content strategy, crisis communications, and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with executive leadership to align communications with organizational goals.
  • Manage and mentor the communications team and external vendors/agencies.
  • Develop internal communications strategies to engage employees and support organizational culture.
  • Ensure consistency and quality across all communications materials and channels.
  • Monitor performance metrics and optimize communications efforts accordingly.
  • Build and maintain relationships with media, partners, and key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive communications strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on messaging and reputation management.
  • Lead crisis and issues communications, developing response plans and messaging.
  • Oversee creation and distribution of content across various media channels.
  • Ensure clear, timely communication of key initiatives and leadership messages internally.
  • Identify opportunities for thought leadership and public visibility.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, HR, legal, and leadership teams.
  • Mentor and manage the communications team and external agencies.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field.
  • 10–12+ years of progressive experience in communications, public relations, or related roles.
  • Proven experience leading teams and managing complex communications initiatives.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
  • Experience handling media relations and crisis communications.
  • Ability to develop and execute effective communications strategies.
  • Proficiency in monitoring performance metrics and optimizing efforts.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
