Job Description

Overview

  • Work as a Legal Billing Coordinator in a dynamic law firm environment.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely billing processes.
  • Utilize advanced billing software, including Aderant Expert, for invoice preparation.
  • Engage with attorneys and staff to address billing inquiries and requirements.
  • Handle electronic billing through third-party programs like CounselLink and Legal Tracker.
  • Participate in monthly closings and reporting to support financial operations.
  • Contribute to special projects and ad-hoc financial tasks as needed.
  • Work onsite in a professional and collaborative office setting.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and edit complex client billing from pre-bills to final invoices.
  • Manage electronic billing through various third-party platforms.
  • Create and update client, matter, and timekeeper records in billing systems.
  • Process time and cost charges accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide financial data and reports to partners, clients, and the finance department.
  • Respond to inquiries from attorneys and staff regarding billing matters.
  • Assist with monthly closings and financial reporting tasks.
  • Support special projects and additional duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of legal billing experience in a law firm setting.
  • Proficiency in Aderant Expert Time; familiarity with Chrome River and ADP preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle high volumes of billing and work under pressure.
  • Flexibility to adapt to varied hours, including weekends or evenings if needed.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
