Job Description

Overview

  • Provide case management services to domestic violence victims within the family court system.
  • Offer advocacy, counseling, and support services to reduce victimization impact.
  • Collaborate with Family Court personnel and criminal justice systems for client support.
  • Assist clients with relocation, housing, and emergency practical assistance.
  • Conduct safety planning, risk assessments, and crisis intervention.
  • Maintain accurate case records and statistics for program evaluation.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings, trainings, and workshops.
  • Utilize knowledge of Family Court and criminal justice systems effectively.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide client-centered emotional support and case management services.
  • Inform clients about Family Court processes and available relief options.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients with court personnel and legal entities.
  • Refer clients to shelters and other necessary services.
  • Assist clients with emergency needs such as transportation and financial aid.
  • Perform risk assessments and develop safety plans for clients.
  • Attend relevant workshops and training sessions for professional development.
  • Ensure thorough documentation of client interactions and case progress.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience required.
  • Understanding of domestic violence dynamics and victimization impacts.
  • Experience working with domestic violence survivors in social service settings.
  • Knowledge of Family Court and criminal justice systems preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is desirable.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills required.
  • Proficiency in computer applications for record-keeping and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks effectively.
