Job Description

Overview

  • Provide comprehensive medical care to adult patients, ensuring high-quality and compassionate treatment aligned with organizational goals and mission.
  • Diagnose and treat a broad range of medical conditions, including outpatient management of HIV disease.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to address patients' health needs effectively.
  • Maintain professional competence through participation in continuing medical education activities.
  • Supervise paramedical personnel and contribute to their professional development.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control measures and organizational policies.
  • Complete all necessary documentation, including medical records and regulatory forms.
  • Participate in peer review audits and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in medical staff meetings and conferences as required.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Examine, diagnose, and treat medical illnesses, evaluating health status and initiating therapeutic measures.
  • Provide preventive care and make referrals to specialty and consultative medical services.
  • Manage patient caseloads while adhering to quality care and productivity standards.
  • Communicate with healthcare providers and staff regarding patient health needs.
  • Complete progress notes and required documentation for reimbursement and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in teaching and mentoring paramedical personnel.
  • Report problems and unusual occurrences to supervisors promptly.
  • Attend medical staff meetings and contribute to organizational initiatives.
  • Assist in peer review chart audits and quality assurance activities.

Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of residency in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, or Osteopathic Medicine.
  • Board Certification or Eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Practice.
  • Active medical license to practice in the State of New York.
  • Progressive work experience in a related medical field.
  • Strong commitment to patient care and organizational goals.
  • Ability to manage a diverse patient caseload effectively.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with healthcare teams.
  • Adherence to infection control measures and regulatory standards.
