Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Review patient history and physician orders to prepare for diagnostic procedures.
- Educate patients about procedures, ensuring their understanding and cooperation.
- Administer contrast media and medications within the scope of practice as required.
- Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes appropriately during procedures.
- Operate and maintain diagnostic imaging equipment, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Analyze imaging results, addressing quality issues and ensuring accurate diagnostics.
- Document and transmit scan results, maintaining accurate patient records.
- Adhere to safety standards and perform quality control procedures regularly.
- Collaborate with radiology students and other healthcare team members.
Job Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.
- Registered as RDMS, RVT, RDCS by ARDMS or certified in Sonography by ARRT.
- Possess BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross, valid upon hire.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, with 2 years preferred.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
