Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Review patient history and physician orders to prepare for diagnostic procedures.
  • Educate patients about procedures, ensuring their understanding and cooperation.
  • Administer contrast media and medications within the scope of practice as required.
  • Monitor patient conditions and respond to changes appropriately during procedures.
  • Operate and maintain diagnostic imaging equipment, ensuring optimal functionality.
  • Analyze imaging results, addressing quality issues and ensuring accurate diagnostics.
  • Document and transmit scan results, maintaining accurate patient records.
  • Adhere to safety standards and perform quality control procedures regularly.
  • Collaborate with radiology students and other healthcare team members.

Job Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program.
  • Registered as RDMS, RVT, RDCS by ARDMS or certified in Sonography by ARRT.
  • Possess BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross, valid upon hire.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience, with 2 years preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills in high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of patient care and safety.
  • Willingness to work night shifts and adapt to changing schedules.
  • Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting advanced imaging equipment.
