Job Description

Overview

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable operations for commercial real estate properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Oversee staff performance, conduct employee reviews, and provide backup support as needed.
  • Assist in hiring, termination, and training processes to maintain a skilled team.
  • Handle tenant correspondence, billing issues, and account balance reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with NYC rent regulations and manage security reconciliations.
  • Support new acquisitions by abstracting and entering lease agreements and transferring contracts.
  • Prepare month-end reports and respond to accountant requests for year-end processes.
  • Utilize software tools for efficient management of financial operations and reporting.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Review and manage accounts receivable processes, including tenant billing and lease management.
  • Oversee accounts payable operations, including tax filings and payment processing.
  • Ensure accurate reconciliation of online rent portals and bank transactions.
  • Manage CAM and real estate tax billing processes for commercial properties.
  • Implement NYC rent regulations and storefront registry requirements.
  • Conduct security reconciliations and manage tenant correspondence regarding financial matters.
  • Prepare and review month-end financial reports and ensure compliance with year-end accounting requirements.
  • Provide managerial oversight to a team of employees, ensuring productivity and adherence to company standards.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) or equivalent degree required.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in accounts payable and receivable operations.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word, with knowledge of Yardi software preferred.
  • Managerial experience overseeing a team of employees is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex financial processes.
  • Knowledge of commercial real estate property management and NYC rent regulations.
  • Ability to handle tenant correspondence and resolve billing issues effectively.
