Job Description

Overview

  • The Senior Collections Analyst plays a vital role in managing client receivables and optimizing cash flow.
  • Collaborate with leadership, Billing, and Finance teams to develop strategic collection plans.
  • Ensure accurate reconciliation of client accounts and maintain detailed collection activity records.
  • Analyze aging reports to identify risks and prioritize follow-ups for timely resolution.
  • Support client onboarding by preparing essential documentation and resolving billing discrepancies.
  • Provide cash collection forecasting and year-end support for fiscal planning.
  • Contribute to process improvements and special revenue initiatives as needed.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage a portfolio of client accounts, implementing strategic collection initiatives.
  • Review and analyze aging reports to prioritize follow-ups and escalate issues.
  • Maintain detailed collection activity records within legal billing systems.
  • Collaborate with partners and clients to ensure timely resolution of receivables.
  • Monitor e-Billing platforms to track invoice approvals and forecast payment timelines.
  • Investigate and reconcile unidentified or misapplied payments with the Cash Receipts team.
  • Prepare customized collection reports and payment schedules for management.
  • Contribute to fiscal planning and revenue projections through cash collection forecasting.

Job Requirements

  • Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of collections experience within a law firm environment.
  • Proficiency in legal billing systems, such as Elite or 3E, is essential.
  • Experience with e-Billing platforms and familiarity with Star Target Cash is advantageous.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Word are required.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail are crucial for success.
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and senior management.
