Overview
- Lead the Emergency Services Department, ensuring service quality, growth, and personnel management for optimal patient care.
- Oversee operations of emergency services, including Free Standing Emergency Department and Emergency Management.
- Collaborate with hospital-wide committees to enhance service delivery and patient experience.
- Develop and implement solutions to address service-related challenges effectively.
- Mentor and coach staff, fostering professional growth and leadership development.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards of emergency care.
- Promote evidence-based practices to enhance employee engagement and patient satisfaction.
- Facilitate strong relationships and networks to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Identify and resolve potential issues affecting emergency services, ensuring consistent high-quality care.
- Participate in committees, providing effective communication and representation.
- Advance patient experience initiatives within the Emergency Department.
- Coach and critique staff to facilitate professional development and performance improvement.
- Communicate industry and organizational information effectively to staff.
- Enforce standards of care and develop processes for consistent compliance.
- Engage in employee and patient rounding, identifying and mentoring future leaders.
- Facilitate resource allocation and management controls for efficient operations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required; Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or Business Administration preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in emergency services and 5 years in leadership roles required.
- Current registered professional nurse license in the practicing state required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required.
- Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) and Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) certifications preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills essential.
- Proven ability to mentor staff and implement evidence-based practices.
- Experience in resource allocation and management controls for emergency services.
