Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee and mentor Staff and Senior Accountants, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of deliverables across client engagements.
  • Lead monthly financial close processes, supervising the preparation and review of financial statements and disclosures.
  • Maintain and deepen client relationships, serving as the primary contact for accounting and financial inquiries.
  • Assess client financial processes and internal controls, implementing improvements for enhanced efficiency.
  • Research and interpret complex accounting issues, providing actionable recommendations to clients.
  • Support SEC audit and quarterly/annual review preparation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement improved accounting workflows and procedures for back-office functions.
  • Provide expertise on GAAP, statutory accounting principles, and specialized areas such as debt/equity transactions.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; CPA certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience, with 8 years preferred, in accounting and financial management.
  • Strong knowledge of SEC accounting and smaller reporting company requirements.
  • Deep expertise in GAAP and statutory accounting principles, including debt and equity transactions.
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor teams, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in deliverables.
  • Experience in client engagement management, including financial close processes and preparation of financial statements.
  • Proficiency in researching and interpreting complex accounting issues, providing actionable recommendations.
  • Ability to work remotely and thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
