Job Description

Overview

  • Provide occupational therapy services to children in a school environment, fostering their physical and cognitive development.
  • Collaborate with educators and families to create effective intervention plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Engage in a structured Monday-to-Friday schedule aligned with the school calendar.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and maintain licensure.
  • Supervise and mentor occupational therapy assistants and students within the program.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards and organizational policies in all therapeutic practices.
  • Maintain treatment areas and equipment to support effective service delivery.
  • Document therapy services accurately for organizational and third-party payer requirements.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop and implement individualized occupational therapy plans based on comprehensive assessments.
  • Conduct screenings and evaluations to identify therapeutic needs and goals.
  • Perform specialized evaluations tailored to individual children's requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care and support.
  • Provide direct therapy services and monitor progress towards therapeutic objectives.
  • Supervise and guide occupational therapy assistants and students effectively.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay updated with industry standards.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical codes and organizational policies in all practices.

Job Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy and a valid state license.
  • NBCOT certification and experience or training in pediatric occupational therapy.
  • Strong ability to assess and interpret data for effective intervention planning.
  • Proficiency in documenting therapy services for organizational and payer requirements.
  • Capability to supervise and mentor assistants and students in therapy practices.
  • Commitment to professional development and adherence to ethical standards.
