Overview

  • Lead and manage hospice clinical services, ensuring exceptional patient care and adherence to healthcare regulations.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance service delivery and patient satisfaction through innovative practices.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain high standards of hospice care.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to staff, fostering professional growth and development opportunities.
  • Ensure optimal resource utilization, including staffing, equipment, and facilities, to support operational efficiency.
  • Engage in strategic planning to address evolving patient population needs effectively.
  • Represent the organization in community and professional settings, promoting hospice services and values.
  • Monitor and report on productivity and budget adherence, aligning with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee policy development and updates, ensuring alignment with healthcare standards and regulations.
  • Facilitate communication between directors and managers for seamless policy implementation.
  • Coordinate with departments and external resources to ensure continuity of patient care.
  • Conduct chart reviews to verify documentation accuracy and efficient resource utilization.
  • Manage staff performance, including orientation, training, and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on special projects to drive organizational effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as accreditation standards.
  • Monitor productivity metrics and contribute to budget preparation to optimize financial performance.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s degree in healthcare or related field preferred.
  • Minimum six years of healthcare experience, including three years in managerial roles.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of hospice and palliative care practices, regulations, and standards.
  • Proficiency in healthcare management, financial planning, and interpersonal relations.
  • Familiarity with accreditation standards and CMS conditions of participation.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills to drive operational success.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and achieve goals within established deadlines.
  • Experience in program development and innovation to enhance patient care services.
