Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee client and matter setups, ensuring adherence to established billing agreements and guidelines.
  • Prepare and monitor work-in-progress reports, delivering accurate prebills for attorney review.
  • Audit and finalize invoices to ensure compliance with client-specific billing requirements.
  • Collaborate with attorneys to address aged accounts and resolve billing disputes effectively.
  • Implement collection strategies to mitigate financial risks and optimize revenue flow.
  • Utilize billing software, including Aderant Expert, to enhance billing operations and efficiency.
  • Provide responsive support to attorneys and staff with billing-related inquiries and solutions.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance overall billing efficiency and accuracy.

Job Requirements

  • Associate degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of legal billing experience; 5 years preferred for optimal performance.
  • Proficiency in automated billing systems, including Aderant Expert, is essential.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for managing complex accounts and billing processes.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with attorneys, staff, and clients.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks efficiently and manage workload in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Outlook, is required.
