Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the management of MEP systems across diverse construction projects, ensuring seamless integration and high-quality outcomes throughout all project phases.
  • Coordinate schedules and resolve field issues with project managers, subcontractors, and design teams for optimal project execution.
  • Oversee mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection scopes from initial planning to final turnover and commissioning.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and enforce protocols to maintain a safe working environment on-site.
  • Participate in clash detection reviews and ensure installations align with project specifications and design intent.
  • Support commissioning processes, owner training, punch list completion, and final documentation delivery for successful project closure.
  • Drive coordination efforts to achieve seamless system integration and overall project success.
  • Track progress, communicate impacts, and provide effective updates to stakeholders to ensure project milestones are met.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise field activities related to MEP systems, including inspections, testing, and quality assurance for compliance with project standards.
  • Coordinate with design teams, trade foremen, and subcontractors to ensure project alignment and successful execution.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure daily work adheres to quality and safety standards.
  • Lead clash detection reviews and ensure installations align with project specifications and design intent.
  • Facilitate commissioning processes, turnover documentation, and owner training sessions for seamless project closure.
  • Resolve field conflicts efficiently while maintaining effective communication with stakeholders and project teams.
  • Track project progress, provide updates, and support management in achieving project goals and milestones.
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety standards and protocols across all MEP activities on-site.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional trade experience is advantageous for advanced roles.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in MEP systems management; 7 years preferred for senior-level positions.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems is essential for effective project oversight.
  • Proficiency in reading technical drawings and leading coordination meetings effectively is required.
  • Proven track record of managing subcontractors on large-scale construction projects successfully.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to address and resolve field issues efficiently.
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred; vehicle allowance provided for eligible candidates.
  • Experience with commissioning and turnover processes is highly desirable for this role.
