Job Description

Overview

  • Support dental students in providing quality care to patients in a dynamic clinical environment.
  • Prepare and maintain operatories for treatments, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for patient care.
  • Assist in four-handed dentistry procedures, demonstrating strong clinical skills and teamwork.
  • Coordinate inventory management to ensure adequate supplies and restocking as needed.
  • Provide compassionate patient care, fostering a positive treatment experience.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to promote effective communication and teamwork.
  • Support students in patient management and communication, enhancing their clinical skills.
  • Participate in continuing education to maintain certifications and stay updated on industry standards.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and disinfect operatories between patient visits, ensuring compliance with protocols.
  • Assist students during dental procedures, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Manage inventory of dental supplies, restocking cabinets and avoiding shortages.
  • Coordinate sterilization of instruments, adhering to established protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, discussing treatment plans and procedures.
  • Provide coverage during evening and Saturday clinic hours as required.
  • Support multiple operatories simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Utilize MS Office products for documentation and communication purposes.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; entry-level position with minimum 1 year of experience preferred.
  • Massachusetts Dental Assistant License and certifications in CPR and Radiology mandatory.
  • Certified Dental Assistant, Expanded Functions (EFDA), or Formally Trained (FTDA) preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a busy clinical environment.
  • Strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures; bilingual skills preferred.
  • Proof of immunity for specified diseases and recent TB test results required.
  • Commitment to attending continuing education courses to maintain certifications.
