Overview
- Support dental students in providing quality care to patients in a dynamic clinical environment.
- Prepare and maintain operatories for treatments, ensuring cleanliness and readiness for patient care.
- Assist in four-handed dentistry procedures, demonstrating strong clinical skills and teamwork.
- Coordinate inventory management to ensure adequate supplies and restocking as needed.
- Provide compassionate patient care, fostering a positive treatment experience.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to promote effective communication and teamwork.
- Support students in patient management and communication, enhancing their clinical skills.
- Participate in continuing education to maintain certifications and stay updated on industry standards.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare and disinfect operatories between patient visits, ensuring compliance with protocols.
- Assist students during dental procedures, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Manage inventory of dental supplies, restocking cabinets and avoiding shortages.
- Coordinate sterilization of instruments, adhering to established protocols.
- Communicate effectively with patients, discussing treatment plans and procedures.
- Provide coverage during evening and Saturday clinic hours as required.
- Support multiple operatories simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Utilize MS Office products for documentation and communication purposes.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; entry-level position with minimum 1 year of experience preferred.
- Massachusetts Dental Assistant License and certifications in CPR and Radiology mandatory.
- Certified Dental Assistant, Expanded Functions (EFDA), or Formally Trained (FTDA) preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively in a busy clinical environment.
- Strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures; bilingual skills preferred.
- Proof of immunity for specified diseases and recent TB test results required.
- Commitment to attending continuing education courses to maintain certifications.
