Overview
- Provide essential support to students and faculty in a dental clinic environment, ensuring high-quality patient care and operational efficiency.
- Perform four-handed dentistry, assisting in procedures, and preparing operatories for treatments and sterilization.
- Organize and manage inventory, ensuring adequate supplies and restocking cabinets as needed.
- Support evening and Saturday clinic hours, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to patient care.
- Promote teamwork and foster positive interactions among staff, faculty, and students.
- Communicate effectively with patients, explaining treatment plans and procedures with empathy and clarity.
- Maintain compliance with health and safety standards, including immunization and certification requirements.
- Utilize MS Office tools for documentation and administrative tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Assist students in providing dental care to patients, ensuring adherence to clinic protocols and standards.
- Prepare and disinfect operatories between patient visits, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- Coordinate and manage dental instrument sterilization processes, following established guidelines.
- Organize and monitor inventory levels, preventing shortages and ensuring availability of supplies.
- Provide patient management guidance to students, modeling effective communication and care techniques.
- Collaborate with team members to support clinic operations and enhance patient experiences.
- Adapt to a fast-paced environment, managing multiple operatories and assisting students simultaneously.

Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; formal dental assistant training preferred.
- Current Massachusetts Dental Assistant License and CPR certification mandatory.
- Radiology certification required; Expanded Functions or Formal Training certifications preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience in dental practice settings, demonstrating knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask effectively.
