Senior System Administrator

Overview

• Manage and ensure the reliability of Enterprise Linux systems in a dynamic environment.
• Support critical infrastructure services, including databases, storage, and virtualization platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align infrastructure with operational needs.
• Implement automation and process improvements to enhance system performance and reliability.
• Participate in incident response and infrastructure support rotations.
• Maintain monitoring systems for effective incident management and operational stability.
• Contribute to the lifecycle management of Linux-based systems and services.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Install, upgrade, and maintain Linux systems across physical and virtual environments.
• Support containerization platforms and shared infrastructure components.
• Design and maintain automation with robust guardrails and observability.
• Collaborate with teams to align infrastructure with research and trading needs.
• Diagnose and resolve issues across multiple infrastructure layers.
• Maintain and evolve monitoring systems for improved incident response.
• Participate in maintenance windows requiring flexibility in scheduling.
• Implement disciplined infrastructure change management practices.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience operating Linux/UNIX systems in production environments.
• Proficiency in Python and Bash scripting; familiarity with other programming languages is beneficial.
• Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible and Terraform.
• Knowledge of monitoring systems such as Prometheus and Grafana.
• Familiarity with containerization platforms and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with teams.
• Cloud and network operations experience is advantageous.
