Job Description

Overview

  • Manage financial accounting for multiple real estate properties and assets, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with property management, leasing, and construction teams to support financial operations and decision-making.
  • Prepare financial statements, budgets, and variance analyses to provide insights into property performance.
  • Perform complex reconciliations of general ledger accounts and transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyze revenues and expenses, providing detailed reports to stakeholders and management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate tenant billing, collection, and receipt application processes.
  • Maintain organized work papers and documentation to support financial analyses and audits.
  • Provide financial information and analyses to owners, management, and external auditors as required.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Collaborate with departments to analyze revenues, expenses, and financial transactions for assigned properties.
  • Prepare interim and annual reconciliations for common area maintenance, real estate taxes, and insurance.
  • Develop annual budgets and perform monthly variance analyses to monitor financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with technical accounting standards, including capitalization and amortization.
  • Conduct complex reconciliations of general ledger accounts and transactions.
  • Verify tenant billings, ensuring timely collection and accurate receipt applications.
  • Produce monthly financial reports and schedules for distribution to stakeholders.
  • Maintain organized documentation and support for financial analyses and audits.
  • Respond to inquiries and resolve accounting issues from management and clients.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required.
  • Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, with 6 years preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, accrual, and cash accounting methods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets and utilize advanced Excel functions effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and organized with strong time management skills.
  • Capability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
