Job Description

Overview

  • Provide clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers in delivering patient care.
  • Assist with patient registration, scheduling, and documentation using electronic medical records systems.
  • Perform direct patient care tasks including vital signs, phlebotomy, and diagnostic screenings.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and adhere to healthcare compliance standards.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to improve patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Support campaigns and initiatives aimed at enhancing population health.
  • Maintain professionalism in interactions with patients, families, and colleagues.
  • Adapt to temporary assignments across different medical offices as needed.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Greet and engage patients, ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment.
  • Coordinate patient flow and resolve issues related to registration and check-in processes.
  • Schedule appointments accurately and verify insurance coverage.
  • Assist in direct patient care tasks including physical examination preparation and diagnostic tests.
  • Document patient care information in electronic medical records.
  • Collect and label specimens, ensuring proper documentation for laboratory processing.
  • Support referral coordination and follow-up with external specialists.
  • Participate in healthcare team meetings and initiatives to enhance patient care.

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or eligibility for certification exam.
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting.
  • Proficiency in navigating electronic medical records systems.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and patient care protocols.
  • Flexibility to work between 8 AM and 6 PM as required.
