Job Description

Overview

  • Provide clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers in a dynamic ambulatory care setting.
  • Assist in patient care activities including vital signs, phlebotomy, and diagnostic tests.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and data entry in the electronic medical record system.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to enhance patient experience and care delivery.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and verifying insurance coverage.
  • Support population health initiatives and patient outreach campaigns.
  • Maintain professionalism and adherence to healthcare standards and policies.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to a cooperative work environment.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Warmly greet and assist patients and guests, ensuring a positive experience.
  • Monitor patient flow and address registration, check-in, and check-out processes.
  • Answer telephones professionally and schedule appointments accurately.
  • Perform direct patient care functions under supervision, including physical exams and diagnostic tests.
  • Collect and label specimens, ensuring proper documentation and preparation.
  • Coordinate referrals and follow-ups with external specialists and healthcare facilities.
  • Assist in patient outreach to improve health outcomes and reduce emergency visits.
  • Maintain effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Completion of accredited Medical Assistant Program or eligibility for certification exam.
  • Minimum 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant in ambulatory care setting.
  • Proficiency in navigating electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and patient care protocols.
  • Ability to perform diagnostic tests and assist in clinical procedures.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours and adapt to different medical office locations.
