Overview

  • Provide essential support to healthcare providers by assisting with clinical and administrative tasks in an ambulatory care setting.
  • Engage with patients to ensure a positive experience and address their needs effectively.
  • Perform patient care functions such as vital signs, phlebotomy, and diagnostic screenings.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver high-quality care and maintain patient records accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare policies and procedures while respecting patient confidentiality.
  • Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) systems proficiently for documentation and coordination.
  • Contribute to a supportive and professional work environment, fostering teamwork and collaboration.
  • Participate in outreach initiatives to improve patient care and reduce unnecessary emergency visits.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Greet and assist patients and guests, ensuring timely communication and addressing their concerns.
  • Schedule appointments, verify insurance coverage, and manage patient registration processes.
  • Perform patient care tasks such as physical examination preparation, vital signs, and specimen collection.
  • Coordinate referrals to specialists and additional tests, ensuring seamless communication and follow-up.
  • Document patient care information accurately in EMR systems and maintain data integrity.
  • Assist in campaigns and initiatives aimed at improving patient health outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare standards, policies, and procedures in all tasks performed.
  • Support healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures as needed.

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or eligibility for certification within 18 months of hire.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting.
  • Proficiency in navigating electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and ability to perform patient care tasks.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours between 8 AM and 6 PM daily.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team and adapt to changing needs.
