Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Greet and assist patients and guests, ensuring timely communication and addressing their concerns.
- Schedule appointments, verify insurance coverage, and manage patient registration processes.
- Perform patient care tasks such as physical examination preparation, vital signs, and specimen collection.
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and additional tests, ensuring seamless communication and follow-up.
- Document patient care information accurately in EMR systems and maintain data integrity.
- Assist in campaigns and initiatives aimed at improving patient health outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare standards, policies, and procedures in all tasks performed.
- Support healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures as needed.
Job Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program or eligibility for certification within 18 months of hire.
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting.
- Proficiency in navigating electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and ability to perform patient care tasks.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Flexibility to work varying hours between 8 AM and 6 PM daily.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team and adapt to changing needs.
