Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Assist surgeons during procedures by providing technical support and surgical instruments.
- Prepare surgical rooms, ensuring sterile instruments and equipment are ready for use.
- Monitor patient vital signs and respond to deviations from normal during surgeries.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing protocols.
- Document patient history, conditions, and responses to treatments accurately.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and growth principles.
- Educate patients about procedures and treatments to ensure understanding and cooperation.
- Participate in departmental activities and serve as a clinical resource for team members.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing or equivalent degree required.
- Current RN licensure in Michigan and completion of RN First Assistant program.
- Minimum of 1 year clinical experience as RNFA; 3 years preferred.
- Competency in perioperative nursing and surgical assisting for diverse age groups.
- Proficiency in nursing processes, including assessment, planning, and evaluation.
- Physical ability to assist with patient positioning and equipment handling.
- Strong communication and coordination skills to collaborate effectively with healthcare teams.
- CNOR certification or enrollment in CNOR program preferred.
