Overview

  • Lead the design and analysis of advanced mechanical systems, ensuring reliability and performance for critical applications.
  • Drive innovation in fluid systems, valves, and actuators from concept to qualification stages.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical designs seamlessly into larger systems.
  • Oversee prototyping, testing, and validation processes to ensure robust and flight-ready hardware.
  • Contribute to system-level architecture and trade studies to optimize performance and reliability.
  • Develop comprehensive engineering documentation to support manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering professional growth and enhancing team capabilities.
  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to elevate engineering standards and practices.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct detailed mechanical design and analysis for high-pressure and cryogenic fluid systems.
  • Lead hardware development, including testing and iterative design improvements based on analytical results.
  • Plan and execute comprehensive test programs, analyze results, and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal system integration and performance.
  • Prepare and deliver technical documentation for manufacturing, testing, and system validation.
  • Mentor and guide team members, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Participate in technical reviews, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Support failure investigations, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical engineering within aerospace or high-reliability industries.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as NX or SolidWorks, and strong understanding of FEA fundamentals.
  • Experience with manufacturing processes, including machining, welding, and heat treatment.
  • Hands-on expertise in hardware debugging and collaboration with technicians.
  • Knowledge of high-pressure and cryogenic fluid systems design and qualification.
  • Familiarity with ASME, NASA, or MIL standards for mission-critical hardware.
  • Proven leadership in failure investigations and mentoring engineering teams.
