Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the tax department, ensuring compliance with regulations and optimizing strategies to minimize liabilities.
  • Develop and implement strategic tax planning initiatives aligned with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address tax implications effectively.
  • Provide expert guidance on evolving tax legislation and its operational impacts.
  • Ensure accurate preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions under ASC 740 standards.
  • Manage relationships with tax authorities, overseeing audits and compliance processes.
  • Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering excellence and growth.
  • Contribute to financial statement tax disclosures and partnership tax functions.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and review corporate income tax returns, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Manage quarterly estimated tax calculations and payments for corporate entities.
  • Oversee partnership tax returns and partner distribution processes.
  • Monitor and interpret tax legislation, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Identify and implement tax planning strategies to optimize tax positions.
  • Collaborate on transactions, restructurings, and M&A due diligence from a tax perspective.
  • Ensure compliance with ASC 740 and SOX standards in tax processes.
  • Mentor and develop junior tax staff, promoting professional growth.

Job Requirements

  • CPA designation or JD/LLM in Taxation required; Master’s in Taxation preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is essential.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in public accounting or corporate tax departments.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. corporate tax law, ASC 740, and state/local tax regulations.
  • Experience with partnership taxation and IFRS is advantageous.
  • Proficiency with tax software such as OneSource, CCH, or similar platforms.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities, including drafting technical memos and presenting findings.
