Job Description

Overview

  • Lead financial reporting and accounting processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams to deliver accurate financial insights supporting strategic organizational decisions.
  • Prepare and reconcile journal entries and general ledger accounts for varied financial activities.
  • Contribute to the preparation of internal schedules and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Enhance audit readiness through documentation and walkthroughs of financial processes.
  • Support the creation of financial statements, disclosures, and regulatory filings.
  • Participate in initiatives to improve reporting accuracy and workflow efficiency.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to implement automation solutions for accounting processes.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and record journal entries for financial transactions across multiple business lines.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and support monthly and quarterly financial close processes.
  • Develop and maintain schedules for statutory reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Assist in audit processes by providing necessary documentation and conducting reviews.
  • Collaborate with teams for reserve analysis and ensuring financial consistency.
  • Contribute to the preparation of financial statements and regulatory disclosures.
  • Engage in initiatives to enhance reporting accuracy and departmental collaboration.
  • Work with IT teams to streamline and automate accounting workflows.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
  • 2–5 years of experience in public or corporate accounting; insurance industry experience advantageous.
  • Proficiency in US GAAP; knowledge of statutory accounting principles is a plus.
  • Experience with general ledger management, journal entries, and financial close processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Sage Intacct preferred.
  • Excellent communication and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work with large datasets and perform accurate reconciliations.
