Job Description

Overview

  • Design and analyze structural systems for diverse projects, ensuring compliance with building codes and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and designers to deliver high-quality solutions tailored to client needs.
  • Utilize advanced structural design software for modeling, analysis, and optimization of steel, wood, concrete, and masonry structures.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and consultants to ensure seamless project execution and communication.
  • Participate in site visits to assess conditions and provide technical recommendations for project specifications.
  • Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and represent the organization in meetings and reviews.
  • Contribute to the development of specifications and review shop drawings for accuracy and compliance.
  • Advance your skills and mentor others in structural engineering practices and methodologies.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop structural designs and calculations for various building types and materials.
  • Ensure designs meet local and national building codes, including IBC, ASCE, ACI, and AISC standards.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Revit for drafting and modeling structural components.
  • Proficiently use structural design software like RAM Structural Systems, Enercalc, and STAADPro.
  • Coordinate technical aspects with project managers to ensure specifications align with project goals.
  • Conduct site visits to evaluate conditions and provide actionable insights for project development.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, including specifications and shop drawings.
  • Represent the organization in client meetings, presentations, and public reviews.
  • Maintain a commitment to client service and foster collaborative relationships within the team.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) with 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in structural design software, including RAM Structural Systems, Enercalc, and STAADPro.
  • Knowledge of building codes and design practices such as IBC, ASCE, ACI, and AISC.
  • Experience in designing and detailing steel, wood, concrete, and masonry structures.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit for drafting and modeling.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn and mentor others in the field.
