Overview

  • Lead financial operations for a dynamic construction company, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and scalability in financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to support strategic growth initiatives, including market expansion and acquisitions.
  • Oversee construction-specific financial processes, such as job costing, WIP schedules, and subcontractor compliance.
  • Implement and optimize ERP/accounting systems to meet the demands of rapid organizational growth.
  • Ensure robust internal controls and adherence to financial policies and compliance standards.
  • Mentor and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and alignment with company values.
  • Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Contribute to ambitious growth plans, driving financial strategies to achieve significant revenue scaling.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Direct accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger management.
  • Oversee construction-specific financial processes, such as job costing, WIP schedules, and change orders.
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP standards.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to guide informed financial decision-making.
  • Implement and maintain robust internal controls and financial policies to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
  • Mentor and develop accounting staff, promoting professional growth and alignment with organizational values.
  • Collaborate with leadership on strategic initiatives, including market expansion and acquisitions.
  • Optimize ERP and accounting systems to support organizational growth and operational scalability.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA certification strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance/accounting experience with leadership responsibilities.
  • Proven expertise in construction accounting, including WIP schedules and job costing.
  • Experience in scaling financial systems and processes to support organizational growth.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development and mentorship.
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems and their optimization for business growth.
  • Knowledge of financial policies, compliance requirements, and internal controls.
