Overview

  • Lead billing operations for a prominent legal organization, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and accuracy in revenue management processes.
  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership and attorneys to optimize billing workflows and enhance operational performance.
  • Supervise and mentor a dedicated revenue management team, fostering professional growth and engagement.
  • Analyze performance metrics to identify opportunities for process improvements and reduce aged accounts receivable balances.
  • Participate in strategic planning to address billing disputes and streamline collection processes.
  • Utilize advanced e-billing platforms to enhance operational efficiency and maintain compliance with client guidelines.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative solutions to optimize billing operations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee billing, e-billing, and collections processes, ensuring compliance with client requirements and organizational standards.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with attorneys and staff to facilitate seamless billing workflows.
  • Monitor aged accounts receivable balances, implementing strategies to improve cash flow and minimize write-offs.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify and execute process improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Supervise billing supervisors and revenue management staff, providing guidance and support for professional development.
  • Conduct performance appraisals, set objectives, and drive team engagement and retention strategies.
  • Resolve billing disputes and collection issues in collaboration with attorneys and clients to ensure satisfaction.
  • Ensure adherence to firm policies and client guidelines in all billing activities.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in legal billing and collections management, with 10 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in e-billing platforms such as Ebilling Hub or Bill-Blast, and familiarity with Aderant software.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical abilities to make informed business decisions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration across teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage tasks effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Experience in team leadership, performance management, and fostering staff development.
  • Strong critical thinking skills to address complex billing challenges and implement solutions.
