  • Lead and oversee billing operations within a fast-paced legal environment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline billing processes and address escalations effectively.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Provide strategic guidance and mentorship to billing specialists, fostering professional growth.
  • Prepare detailed billing reports and analyses to support management decision-making.
  • Ensure adherence to client guidelines and firm policies, maintaining high standards of service.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to support effective billing and collections processes.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise daily billing operations, providing expert guidance and support to the team.
  • Resolve complex billing issues in collaboration with attorneys and managers, ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Perform detailed prebill edits and generate accurate invoices using advanced billing software.
  • Train and onboard new team members, ensuring seamless integration and adherence to best practices.
  • Develop and implement corrective actions to optimize billing efficiency and accuracy.
  • Enhance e-billing processes and address disputes with third-party vendors effectively.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify and implement process improvements and innovations.
  • Provide constructive feedback during performance appraisals to foster team engagement and development.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of billing experience, with 1-3 years in a supervisory role within legal billing.
  • Proficiency in billing software such as Aderant, Elite, or 3E is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of e-billing platforms and third-party vendor management.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills for effective problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration across diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other Windows-based software applications.
