Job Description

Overview

  • Lead nursing operations at a multi-specialty Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) ensuring high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with physicians and staff to foster a team-oriented culture and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee clinical departments including Operating Room, Pre-Operative, and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU).
  • Drive infection prevention, quality improvement, and staff development initiatives within the facility.
  • Ensure accreditation readiness and adherence to regulatory standards and policies.
  • Support clinical staff as a resource and provide hands-on leadership in daily operations.
  • Participate in administrative meetings and contribute to strategic planning and workflow coordination.
  • Work closely with pediatric and adult patients across diverse specialties including ENT, orthopedics, and ophthalmology.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide clinical and administrative oversight for OR, Pre-Op, and PACU departments ensuring operational excellence.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives and infection control programs to maintain high standards of patient care.
  • Develop and implement staff education and competency programs to enhance team performance.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards for the facility.
  • Coordinate scheduling, workflow, and clinical operations to optimize efficiency and communication.
  • Act as a clinical resource and support staff in the OR, Pre-Op, and PACU departments.
  • Foster a collaborative culture among physicians and clinical teams to achieve shared goals.
  • Participate in leadership meetings and contribute to strategic planning and operational improvements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution is required.
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) setting.
  • Strong background in Pre-Operative, PACU, and Circulating roles with leadership experience.
  • Proficiency in infection prevention standards and risk management processes.
  • Experience managing staff and operations in outpatient surgical environments.
  • Preferred experience in multi-specialty ASC settings and accreditation processes.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills are essential.
