Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Oversee daily operations within the perioperative department, ensuring optimal patient care and staff performance.
- Collaborate with educators to provide ongoing staff training and professional development opportunities.
- Develop and implement department-specific goals, objectives, and improvement initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage budgets, including operating and capital expenditures, to optimize resource allocation.
- Conduct performance appraisals and support staff growth through mentorship and coaching.
- Participate in management meetings, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making processes.
- Act as a liaison between perioperative staff and other departments to ensure effective collaboration.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced degrees preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of acute care leadership experience in an operating room setting.
- 5 years of RN staff-level operating room experience preferred.
- Current State RN license or compact state license required.
- Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification from AHA or ARC required.
- CNOR certification preferred, showcasing advanced perioperative nursing expertise.
- Strong clinical knowledge in surgical nursing and perioperative services.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills to drive team success.
