Overview

  • Play a pivotal role as a Commercial Estimator in a dynamic construction firm, driving accurate cost estimation for impactful commercial projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure precise budgeting and resource allocation for construction endeavors.
  • Utilize advanced estimation tools and methodologies to deliver reliable project cost assessments.
  • Foster strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors to optimize procurement and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and client requirements in all estimation activities.
  • Contribute to competitive bid development and proposals for securing new business opportunities.
  • Participate in strategic planning meetings to align estimation approaches with organizational objectives.
  • Analyze historical data and market trends to refine estimation accuracy and forecasting capabilities.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for commercial construction projects, ensuring alignment with client specifications and budgets.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to gather essential project details.
  • Evaluate subcontractor bids and negotiate contracts to achieve cost-effective solutions.
  • Monitor project progress and update cost estimates to reflect changes and ensure accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain a robust database of cost information for future reference and analysis.
  • Provide actionable insights and recommendations to enhance project profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure all estimation documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and submitted within established deadlines.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and presentations for stakeholders to support informed decision-making.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial construction estimation; 5 years preferred.
  • Proven expertise in managing projects ranging from $5M to $15M.
  • Strong professional tenure with no more than three employers in the last decade.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard estimation software and tools for accurate assessments.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to ensure precise cost evaluations.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills for engaging with vendors and subcontractors.
  • Ability to work on-site and collaborate effectively with diverse multidisciplinary teams.
