Job Description

Overview

  • Serve as a vital member of the healthcare team, providing both administrative and clinical support to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Engage directly with patients, assisting in examinations and addressing their healthcare needs with professionalism and empathy.
  • Utilize electronic medical records systems to accurately manage patient information and maintain compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Perform diagnostic tests, administer injections, and collect specimens in adherence to certification guidelines.
  • Contribute to maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment by sterilizing equipment and preparing examination rooms.
  • Collaborate with physicians and nurses to deliver high-quality care and support organizational healthcare initiatives.
  • Participate in patient education, providing guidance on treatments, procedures, and health management strategies.
  • Support the organization’s value-based care programs, focusing on quality, efficiency, and patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, administering medications, and assisting in diagnostic procedures.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient entry of patient information into electronic medical records systems.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver seamless patient care and support operational efficiency.
  • Maintain hygiene standards by sterilizing medical instruments and preparing examination rooms.
  • Educate patients on treatments, procedures, and health management practices to enhance their understanding and compliance.
  • Participate in the organization’s Tuberculosis (TB) screening program and other patient-facing initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to healthcare regulations and organizational policies in all activities.
  • Support value-based care initiatives, including HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and patient experience improvement programs.

Job Requirements

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training program or certification/registration as a Medical Assistant.
  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • CPR certification and compliance with Tuberculosis (TB) screening requirements.
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy, medication/vaccine administration, and patient care activities.
  • Knowledge of value-based care practices, including HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and patient experience metrics.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, with successful completion of a proficiency exam preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and maintain focus within defined parameters.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams.
