Job Description

Overview

  • Lead and oversee comprehensive accounting operations for a dynamic financial organization, ensuring accuracy and compliance across diverse entities and structures.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align financial practices with strategic goals and optimize investment performance.
  • Develop and maintain robust internal controls and procedures to ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide detailed financial analysis and reporting to support informed decision-making by stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with external advisors for tax preparation, audits, and compliance requirements.
  • Drive process improvements and scalability initiatives within the accounting function.
  • Support strategic financial planning and analysis to enhance operational efficiency and investment outcomes.
  • Work closely with the CFO to ensure alignment of accounting practices with organizational objectives.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee investment accounting, including tracking capital calls, distributions, and fund commitments.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements for various entities and operating companies.
  • Manage general ledger activities, journal entries, and cash reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
  • Coordinate intercompany accounting processes and eliminations for consolidated reporting.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis to guide financial planning.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in the preparation of tax filings.
  • Implement best practices for accounting processes and reporting improvements.
  • Participate in audits and reviews to ensure compliance and accuracy of financial data.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with 15 years preferred for senior-level expertise.
  • Proficiency in investment accounting and entity-level accounting practices is essential.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems used in financial organizations.
  • Experience in public accounting or financial services environments is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in managing transactional work.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders and teams.
  • Ability to work on-site and contribute to a dynamic and collaborative environment.
