Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform wound care procedures, including managing chronic and infected wounds.
- Prescribe medications, including controlled substances, adhering to legal guidelines.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests to inform treatment decisions.
- Collaborate with primary care physicians to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and families on wound care management and prevention strategies.
- Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) for accurate documentation and communication.
- Implement advanced wound care products and devices for optimal healing.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress.
Job Requirements
- Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) with unrestricted NP license in Ohio.
- Board Certification and DEA licensure preferred.
- Experience in adult, family, or geriatric specialties, with a focus on wound care.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and treating various wound etiologies.
- Familiarity with wound care products, devices, and best practices.
- Comfortable working in long-term care settings and using EMR systems.
- Strong preference for wound certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within interdisciplinary care teams.
